MAKAIRA II
Makaira II

This is our home

She was built in Italy, and soon after she crossed the Atlantic, spending more than 10 years in the Caribbean. In 2003 she made her way to Norway, and since then she has been sailing with the viking flag. Although is not a luxury sailboat, she provides us with everything we need. With her 3 cabin layout, we can sleep comfortably 7 people onboard. The big saloon can accommodate 8 guests and is our favourite place on the boat.

Makaira II is a fast boat, she is well equipped and sturdily built, one of those pieces of art from the 80s where you can see no sailing attributes were left untouched. During the time we had her, we have upgraded her for long distance cruising with a 700l water tank, solar panels and a wind turbine to power her lithium batteries. This means we can stay off grid for longer periods of time. In addition, her rig and sail wardrobe has been refitted and renovated to ensure she can withstand challenging offshore situations.
